A lot of people live in small apartments, by the choice or need. Talented interior designer from Lithuania showed us how she used Scandinavian interior design to create incredible apartment on a very limited area. Take a look!
Indrė Sunklodienė is a Lithuanian award-winning interior designer – architect who works under her personal brand InArch. Her hometown Vilnius recently became richer for this beautiful small apartment featuring Scandinavian interior design.
Scandinavian interior design for small living areas
“Loft Town” is a 85 square meters apartment, designed for a lucky young couple. Having quite limited area to work with, Indrė decided to turn two small floors into comfortable living space using modern elements of Scandinavian interior design. First floor houses small modern kitchen, contemporary dining room and high ceiling living room. Kitchen is well lit by the daylight coming in through two large windows with modern window nooks. Dining room is designed as a connection space between kitchen and beautiful modern living room which is probably the smallest living room I have ever seen, but none the less beautiful or functional. Ideas for modern small apartments
Upper floor houses master bedroom designed to offer lovely living room overview through the glass wall. Even though its purpose is to bring daylight into the bedroom, it came up as a nice modern touch to this Scandinavian interior design story. Amazing detail is wooden structure climbing on the wall and stretching through the ceiling over the bed. Beautiful wooden sculpture during the day is actually modern ceiling light during the night. Besides amazing modern bedroom, upper floor offers small modern bathroom and closet.

Mirrors are a perfect way to make a small apartment feel much larger than it really is. You can place them on the walls, near windows, and in other strategic locations, such as opposite a window, creating an illusion of a more expansive space. For a modern feel, choose mirrors with exciting shapes, frames, or finishes, embracing the Scandinavian style.
Plants are an excellent way to infuse life and color into a small, modern apartment, which also helps improve the air quality. Choose peace lilies, fiddle-leaf figs, snake plants, and similar greenery; they’re easy to care for and will thrive in a limited environment. You can place them near Scandinavian rugs and decor to balance your layout.
Above all, don’t be afraid to add your style and personality to your small apartment. It’s all about self-expression and bringing what makes you happy out into the world.
