House colors are creating those “love it/hate it” relationships between homes and our eyes since, well, forever. If someone asked you “what color would be your perfect house”, what would you answer? You don’t know? Then this beautiful residence might give you some ideas.
This home and its modern facade, photographed by Urban Angles, is located in Melbourne, Australia. While Melbourne is full of amazing architecture and beautiful homes, this one has something that surely attracts everyone’s attention; gorgeous facade.
Exterior paint ideas
Already main gate design will let you know that this house is nothing like your usual neighborhood house. (You might want to check out top 50 modern house designs ever built as well!) Street side entrance design with sternly dark brown color warns passers that people living here care about their privacy. Massive wooden doors kind of remind us on those medieval castles with huge wooden gates that served as a bridges while being open. On the other side, beautifully landscaped yard with lovely pond and lots of greenery welcomes everyone approaching this “modern palace”. It’s like a modern fairy tale. Main door design follows the gate design with wood and massiveness. (See 40 modern entrances designed to impress!)
Exterior house colors
The house offers two floors. Ground floor features modern kitchen, dining room, living room and adjusted pool house. Upper floor offers bedroom and bathroom. While minimalist interiors are designed in bright colors, combining white walls and wooden floors and furniture, exterior house colors are kept in contrast. Serious and incredibly elegant tone of dark brown color continues from the gate and flows all around the house. While ground floor glass walls are left uncovered, glass walls on the first floor are covered with sliding structural wooden shades, perfectly blending with house color. The whole wood, brown concrete and glass atmosphere was fulfilled with lots of vegetation around the house, specially in the swimming pool area.
